The term SMART Repairs is commonly confused with mobile technicians who work from a van, or small facilities that only have the equipment for quick repairs. This is not the case – SMART stands for Small, Medium Area Technology. We have a fully equipped body shop and cover all repairs from a small scuff, to serious accident damage and full restorations.

PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) is a very clever way to remove most small dings and dents without the need to paint your car. If it is possible to remove a dent from your vehicle using this process then we will offer this option. We are happy to discuss all the options and provide the best service for you and your vehicle.

Hillarys was one of the very few companies that had the expertise to work on my vehicle. My insurer struggled to find any of ‘their’ repairers to take on the work on what they called a classic car (1997 Nissan Skyline)
Richard and his skilled team took on the work and patiently waited for parts shipped direct from Japan. Once they had all the necessary items the work was complete in good time and to an amazing standard as they work on prestige/rare vehicles daily.

The 1.5hr drive to the companies HQ was worth the effort as the car has been returned to better than before the accident. After an unfortunate accident ended up with big dent in front bonnet of my Mercedes. One company told me that they couldn’t get dent out and I needed a new bonnet at a ridiculous price. Went to see Richard and his team who did a fantastic job in repairing dent. It looked like a new bonnet but at over half the cost. Yes, we are able to arrange a courtesy vehicle, subject to availability.
Yes, we are happy to provide a free, no obligation estimate for your vehicle upon inspection for any paint and bodywork repairs.
Yes, we offer a Paintless Dent Removal (PDR) service. If it is possible to use this method of repair on your vehicle then we will offer you this option. If the dent has damaged the paintwork or is unsuitable for PDR then we will provide an estimate to repair and paint the damaged area.
Yes, we can offer a full respray. It is worth considering though, that a full respray is a huge job and is not always a cost effective option. To change the colour, this further increases the amount of labour, as we need to remove the engine, interior, windows etc. We are happy to provide you with an estimate but most of the time, we are able to improve the overall appearance of your vehicle without fully respraying it. We generally find that prestige, classic and sports cars are the types of vehicle that we respray and it is usually part of a restoration.

If it is a small repair then it may be possible to complete it for you in one day. If this is possible then we will give you the option at the point of booking your appointment. For general reference; we will need to have your vehicle on site for more than one day in most cases.
Yes. Insurance companies prefer to send your car to one of the accident repair centres where they get a discounted rate, however it is your vehicle and it is your choice who completes the repairs. If you wish to use Hillarys Coachworks, it is your right to do so. We can discuss this with you in more detail, should you have any questions or concerns.
